After working to improve elements of the existing system at MillCity’s Neenah campus, their leadership entrusted Brilliant to design, build, and integrate an entirely new system at their newly acquired Oshkosh location—a beautiful four-building campus envisioned as a place to create a brand-new worship experience for their growing community.

• Allen & Heath Unified Sound System: Avantis mix console, GX4816 and 64x64 Dante Option card provides routing of every signal to nearly anywhere on the network including multi-track recording for any service or event.
• Scalable Audio Distribution: Dante-driven QSC Q-SYS user control interfaces to route any audio to multiple zones and even different buildings!
• Flexible I/O options for all stage-driven signals: From the main rack to the floor boxes and back to the mix position, the full plethora of connection options are available and online ready to use: balanced direct outs to accommodate active in-ear monitoring or powered stage monitors, or passive monitor outs.
• Video Distribution-Ready AV Network: Netgear AV switches profiled with AV QoS provide audio networking and distribution that is also ready for future video distribution.
• Expandable Stage Lighting: Utilizing Blizzard Lighting’s DMX splitters, DMX can be routed and controlled not only to the main light truss but also to down stage, under stage and house lighting.
• High-Speed 10Gbps Fiber Backbone: Over 500’ of Multimode fiber to fully connect all 4 campus buildings as one singular, accessible, and scalable network.
• Remotely Supported AV System: Using QSC’s Enterprise Reflect monitoring system, we can remotely support nearly every aspect of the AV System remotely.
From the beginning, collaboration with MillCity’s leadership, musical, and technical teams made it clear we had partners who shared our pursuit of excellence. We also knew that doing things “the usual way” would never meet their expectations—or fulfill the vision of a powerful, immersive worship environment.
The goal for the main sound system was simple but uncompromising: excellence and consistency in every seat. Traditional subwoofer placement and mid-high cabinet mounting would not achieve that. The solution demanded more—crystal-clear sound from the very front row to the back wall without compromise.
For mid and high frequencies, QSC’s PL-LA12 passive line arrays were the obvious choice, providing seamless coverage throughout the sanctuary. For low frequencies, we selected the most challenging yet highest-performing option: a cardioid subwoofer array. With only four QSC PL-SUB18 passive subwoofers, we engineered a design that perfectly complemented the line arrays, delivering powerful, controlled bass throughout the room.
Drawing on more than 40 years of combined experience—from live sound and recording studios to audiophile system design—we carefully modeled placement, distribution, and delay settings to achieve maximum clarity and evenness. The result was exactly what MillCity had been longing for: balanced coverage, musical depth, and spoken-word intelligibility. Every voice, every instrument, and every word of the message now carries with precision, energy, and warmth—ensuring that every worshipper, no matter where they sit, experiences the same fullness of sound.
For MillCity Church, this was not just an upgrade in technology. It was the fulfillment of a vision: to remove distractions, elevate worship, and create a space where the focus remains on what matters most.
